Sat, May 21 - Food Preservation Skills from 2-4 pm to introduce our
new homesteading and green building skills series. Trish Percy will
teach an overview for traditional food preservation skills of canning,
food drying and dehydration. This is followed by Steve Ivy teaching
food preservation by replacing oxygen with nitrogen. This is used for
long-term preservation with or without freezing, depending upon the
food preserved. Class is free but a donation for handouts is
appreciated. Second floor Guadalupe Peak classroom of REI, 4515 LBJ
Fwy, Dallas, 75244, located between Midway and Welch on the north
access road to I-635 between Guitar Center and Haverty's. Elevator is
available for access to the second floor classrooms. Please let me
know if you are coming as, although we have space here, we can't
spread out too far and still see everything.
