Hi, my name is Ann. We started our first garden in Plano this year and as you can imagine it was pretty rough. We planted some early tomatoes and did harvest some before the really intense heat hit. No luck with zucchini squash. (nasty looking insects)
We did get a few beans and some jalapeno peppers. The pepper plants are still around but not producing. I think they might with the cooler weather.
Any help is appreciated.
What can still be planted this year?

Hello Ann and welcome to the community! I think this summer has convinced some farmers to quit. It was rough.
It's a great time to plant all the cool weather crops.
radish, lettuce, spinach, beets, turnips, broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage, kale
someone even said they were going to try a quick producing squash.
we have about 60 days until the expected frost, and most of the cold weather crops will go most all the winter

Hi Ann,
I will soon be putting peas in and I think there's still enough time for a quick crop of bush beans.
This fall, I put my lettuce and spinach in "bags" so I can move them around and cover them easily.
I'm hoping that I'll be able to have lettuce and spinach most of the winter that way.
Good luck, :)
Gloria
