My name is Karrisa. I live in Newark, just northwest of Fort Worth. My garden consists of four 4ft x 4ft raised beds and various containers. I'm doing a modified square foot gardening plan. I use the SFG spacing and several of their vertical growing tips but I did not use Mel's mix or stick to his rule about not planting like plants next to each other. This is my first year using the raised beds, in the past I had only done container gardening because I rent my home and did not want to do anything permanent.
I currently have planted tomatoes, cucumbers, green beans, sugar snap peas, broccoli, lettuce, spinach, strawberries, bell peppers, banana peppers, squash, zucchini, potatoes, onions, carrots, radishes, garlic, and various herbs. I will be adding okra and need to pick up a couple more bell pepper plants and replace a zucchini that didn't survive transplanting. I've become quite obsessed with gardening! It'll be nice to be a part of a group of like-minded individuals!
