Title: Hello from NE DFW! :)
Post by: Mrs Gonzalez on April 30, 2015, 11:14:38 AM
I am so glad to have found this board. I had a small, successful garden about 9 years ago in the flower bed of our first home. My sons and I just threw 4 or 5 plants in the ground (tomato, cucumber and bell pepper seedlings) on a lark that spring. I ended up with tons of produce! I was hooked after that, but we moved the next year and the new location was a struggle in terms of getting anything to grow. I gave up after 2 seasons. We have since moved back to the first house. My husband and I promptly tilled up a 16x8 patch of our backyard for a raised bed last week. We planted slicing cucumbers, black diamond watermelon, big boy tomatoes and bush beans this week and direct-seeded some sweet corn. We are excited to see what comes of it!
