New organic garden and wellness center in Midlothian, TX
« on: February 27, 2012, 03:26:02 PM »
Hello,
I am new to the NTVG web site. I am a family physicain practicing in Midlothian, Texas. I am in the process of starting an organic gardening and wellness center in Midlothian. My goal is to assist my patients, and anyone interested, in "health" by diet and not pills. My view is; "we are what we eat". If we are sick, overweight, tired and stressed out then we most likely aren't eating right. Most poeple think they eat healthy. But after researching our food industry in America, most of us are duped into believing many lies about what is healthy.
We are essentially made to be, predominantly, herbivores. But in america we tend to be, predominantly, carnivores. We also want our food cheap, fast and hot. I'm not against meat, emphatically, but I am against processed foods, emphatically. It is just that animal fat, and processed foods are two of the essential causes of our obesity, heart disease, diabetes and cancers that are running rampant in our society. Organic fruits and vegetable are the answer to health; not more pills! There are few absolutes in this world, but what I am saying is the truth. I can attest to these statements by my own 13 years of experience in family medicine. Most people are sick because of eating way too much animal fat and processed foods. Our food industry is all about making money, not your health. An organic garden in every yard in America is the answer to our problems in the food, exercise and health industries. Our diets need to be predominantly plant based, and those plants need to be fresh and free of chemicals, preservatives and genetic modifications. These fruits and vegetables also need to be inexpensive, or the poorer folks in our society wont be able to afford good nutrition. The answer is in the miracle of life from a seed in the natural soil. It's essentially free!
