Liz & Lori's Hens
« on: May 04, 2011, 09:58:24 PM »
Henrietta, Maude and Penny at 7 weeks. We have been moving their coop around, but we're thinking about a having a permanent location. They have the run of the yard when we're home, but when we're away we are considering building them a large screened enclosure.

We have a Barred Rock, an Americauna and a Cuckoo Maran - so very cute and full of personality!

For a permanent structure consider a "hoop House". They're made from hoops bent from the top rail pipes from cyclone fences and can be made any size. Ours is 20'x20'x15' tall. It's covered with 2x4 welded wire fence around the bottom and 1' poultry netting over the top. We use landscape fabric over the top in summer for shade.
