TOFGA Update.
« on: February 01, 2013, 01:14:25 AM »
Well, we not only got our minimum required attendees for our pre-conference seminar Farm Smart - Grow Smart.  Grow More And Better With Less, but more than doubled it!  In fact, we had to move to a bigger room with a capacity of 30.  We probably won't know how many folks will finally have registered until we get there.  We're printing 35 course manuals and will offer any remaining for sale at the TOFGA bookstore.  The manual is HUGE - just the basic book is around 185 pages - plus the slides for the seven sessions - looks like its gonna be more than 200 pages - but I don't know many slides there are...

Have been spending a lot of time preparing my two presentations for the conference, itself.  Friday's session will be on plant nutrition and testing, and Saturday's will be on soil fertility and testing.  Both will focus a lot on micronutrients, trace elements, biology and water.

Lotz of activity going on - the on-line ordering store, www.SoilKits.com now is able to offer nearly all of our tests.  For the client, the system offers tracking, so we can tell you when we got your sample and when your report will be sent.  For us, it means no more "mystery samples" - samples we get with no contact information or anything else and we can't do anything with them until we get a call...

The drought is finally gotten farmers' attention - we're getting a lot of acreage in Oregon, Nebraska, Idaho and Kansas - a lot of sugar beets, potatos and corn - plus some other things...  They just can't argue with our field results!
