Hello-Hydroponics in Keller Area
« on: January 21, 2016, 07:36:58 AM »
Good morning.  I must have tried to register a long time ago because I don't even remember doing so.  I just received an e-mail that my account would be deleted if I didn't do an intro post, so I figured, what the heck, and here I am.

Anyway, about a year ago I decided I wanted to have greater control over what my family and I consumed.  I set out to build a 90sqft grow room.  The room was complete back in September, and that's when the fist plant went in.  A cherry tomato plant, (which is still growing and producing by the way).

Some of the things I grow are:

Brussel Sprouts
Various Tomatoes
Various Peppers
Various Herbs
Cucumbers
Kale
Wide variety of lettuce

I do vertical growing on the lettuces so as to maximize the yield per sqft of floor space, (can currently grow 96 heads of lettuce in 10sqft).

I have found this venture to be a lot of hard work, but at the same time, very rewarding being that I get fresh food year round.

Below are a few pics.

Yes.  Some HydroGrow.  Some Phillips strips for the lettuces.  And COB's I built myself.
