Hey all..
« on: February 02, 2016, 09:05:26 AM »
New guy to the forum, not a new gardener.. I got swamped with my business and haven't had a one in 2 years. I did grow herbs in planters but that was about it. Getting going again this year. Have the tiller running again and adding a greenhouse this time. Nice to find a place with other folks in the NTX area to exchange info with being we are all in the 'heat' together.. I am also very interested in backyard chickens as the lady I've gotten them from the last 4+ years has moved. Unfortunately I live in Grand Prairie and they seem to have rule about there being 150' from the pen to the nearest neighbor, so I guess that is out..

Good idea on talking to the neighbors. I can actually make the 150' rule  ( extra large cul-d-sac inside corner lot with alley) except for 1 neighbor and they have 2 dogs that are always making a racket, guessing the chickens would be quieter than that. Got the tiller running today thanks to a brand new carburetor for $14 off amazon..
