Well, we just got back from the Texas Nursery and Landscape Association's 2012 Expo in Houston. This is a huge show that is almost impossible to completely cover in only two-and-a-half days! The colleseum is about five blocks long by a block wide and my feet will be hurting for weeks! Our intrepid webmaster, Matt, along with his lovely wife, Valerie (as the cameraschveetie) interviewed a variety of interesting folks with interesting products and businesses. They have produced a series of short video clips and put them up on our FaceBook page:
https://www.facebook.com/texasplantandsoillab.
As I do at these events, I wander around and just start talking to people when it looks like they might be interesting. Often, we collide and start talking after show hours, over brewskies... After getting acquainted, I'd ask them if they would mind talking about what they do in front of the camera, then turn Matt and and Valerie loose on them during the show the next day.
In addition to the video clips, you'll see some photos of our motley crewe. I was especially distressed to see what a blowed-out old geezer I am - especially since I'm still trying to figure what I'm going to do when I grow up! Anyhow, we had a lot of fun meeting the folks you'll see, seeing our old friends again and seeing all the cool stuff.
Really hope you'll find these as fun and interesting as we did! Check out especially the Bug-Man and also Dave Becnel - a Cajun right out of the text-books! He had us all laughing hysterically with all of his stories (off-camera). We could have done hours with him... And hope you'll note our chat with Marilyn and Donelle of
The Farm Girls radio program on 770 KAAM...
And, by the way, Matt has done a complete rebuild of our original webcyte,
www.TexasPlantAndSoilLab.com - and there'll be more! Hope you'll have a look at it and see what you think.
