Fruit Tree Company: Bob Wells Nursery

This is not the old Bob Wells Nursery…it’s under new ownership, and my experience was nothing like I expected.

I paid nearly $300 for two tiny pawpaw trees that were only about 12 inches tall. Both arrived undersized, stressed, and unhealthy.

I contacted customer service shortly after they arrived, sent photos, and asked about replacements. Instead, I was encouraged to keep trying to save them because they believed the trees would recover.

After babying them only one recovered.

The KSU Atwood never did.

I continued following their recommendations, hoping the tree would rebound. When it became clear it wasn’t going to survive, I asked them to stand behind what I believed they had led me to expect.

Instead, they pointed to the warranty timeline and denied the claim. After multiple emails documenting the issue, they stopped responding. When I called, the first representative was extremely rude and hang up on me. I called back and spoke with a gentleman who was professional, but the follow up email was still a flat denial.

Customer service isn’t tested when everything goes right…it’s tested when there’s a problem. Based on my experience, this company failed that test.

Don’t trust or rely on assurances from this company that it will recover or that they’ll “make it right later.” Even if you get every promise in writing, and documented…get a replacement, or refund immediately while you’re still inside the warranty period.

They’ll never get another dollar from me, and I can’t recommend that anyone else risk theirs.

Bob Wells Nursery is under new ownership. Every tree I have received is large and healthy, and they have a huge selection. I can’t find trees this big anywhere else for such a great price. They also state that they use organic treatments. So this is my new favorite nursery.

do not buy from Bob Wells Nursery, I just Purchased eight potted fruit trees from Bob Wells Nursery, four persimmon and four Jujube trees, they are such low quality, and their trees are very poor quality and unhealthy. It is unacceptable, I paid 80 dollars for each Jujube tree plus twenty dollars shipping for each tree, a total 100 dollars per tree, and received half dead poor-quality trees. they should not send out trashes to their customer, they cannot be trusted, and should be avoided. they are the worst nursery.

Ordered 3 crabapple trees. Rcvd wonderful condition. Trees appeared well cared for. Can’t say enough good. Will buy more next month

I’ve ordered 2 times and each time I was surprised by how large the trees are when I get them.
