I’ve had good luck with the few seeds I’ve purchased from this company, but I so rarely do as their selection is small. I don’t want to pay shipping from a bunch of different companies and I can find most of the varieties they offer at other places with larger selections. I originally ordered because of the peanut seeds I couldn’t find anywhere else at the time.

Compared to other companies, we only had less than a 50% germination rate and only one plant fully produced

I’ve had good luck with growing seeds I have ordered from here. I love that they have a nice selection of southern peas and okra, and much more. Their catalogs are enjoyable with stories behind many varieties.

Seeds that are genetically suited to our NTX growing area, nothing to compromise about. Good supply of fresh seed is sent, in very well labeled sturdy packaging. Each season I order from Wilhitte — a repeat, dependable experience.

I like that Willhite is located in our area. I’ve only ordered from then twice, the first time was during the covid crazy time– it it took them several weeks to ship out my order. I just ordered from them again and got my order super fast!

I have order from them for years and never had a problem. Prices are the best I’ve found. Plus there from Texas!!

Have been purchasing seeds from them for several years and they have always performed well. Since they supply commercial farmers, they do test germination rates and if they aren’t good they don’t sell the seed. They carry the varieties that do well in our area and sell in quantities small to large.

They have a large selection and good germination most of the time, but their prices are often the highest.

I buy most of my seeds from Johnny’s, and would definitely give JSS a 5 star rating except for two things. Many of their products, info, and service are geared to small commercial greenhouse/market growers. They are located in Maine. Their field test environment is much different than Texas. I have found several of their products labeled “Heat Tolerant” are no match for Texas Hot. All in all, however this is a great company.

I love the selections and variety of the Johnny’s catalog, and the depth of information provided about each plant. Practically, though, I’ve had mixed results with the seeds I’ve purchased. Some never sprouted, and others were not true to size and conditions described.

They have a great selection of vegetables and flower seeds, and I love that I can order a larger package of some of my favorites. I think their prices are pretty reasonable too. Oh, and their catalog includes helpful germination information like what temperature they sprout best at, etc.

Johnny Seeds has an amazing variety of garden supplies. The prices for seeds are definitely on the higher side, but they give advice and have lots of free resources (planting guides per growing zones for example). Their catalog is not flashy, but attractive enough to make me buy more than I should each year. I

Park Seeds is one of the few companies that is located in the south, so their seeds should be better suited to our area. They also pack them in air-tight foil packs, which is great. They used to be my favorite company until my last order, which took 2 weeks to get to me. In today’s world where I can get shipped almost anything to my house in 2 days, a few packets of seeds shouldn’t take 2 weeks.
